Friends Forever….

Would life be worth living without friends? They are a priceless bunch. Always there without question, without the slightest hesitation. Always by your side in right and in wrong. They have the power to light up your face and put a smile there even when it is drenched in tears. They have the power to change the course of your life with just a gentle push. They stand by your side in your tallest hour and stick with you in your darkest. They know your deepest secrets, can see through you and yet love the image. They are the ones who pick up your call anytime, anywhere and know how you are just by hearing your voice. They are the ones God made so you can make sense of your life in this world.

On this day, I thank all my friends from the deepest, purest place in my heart, for being a beacon of light through the tunnel, for putting a smile on my face when I dint find any reason to, for holding my hand when I felt all alone, for loving me the way I am, for just being you and being there.

April Fool’s Day – When it’s cool to fool!

No man on earth, or even heavens as our mythology proves, takes kindly to being made a fool of. Come April 1st, millions try their level best to fool someone, anyone, all in zest ofcourse. This is one day with a license to lie, where pranksters reign supreme and people take pride in deception. My son has been at it since morning, playing pranks on me with varying degrees. April fool!! April fool!! April fool!! Pure glee on his face stops me from shaking him until he faints so I can peacefully get through to 2nd April. I quietly grin and bear instead. Am wondering how many more pranks I can take before I break and shut him up in a room for the rest of the day.

As I set about, prowling on the net, to find the person responsible for starting this ritual, I realize that being on the wrong side of 30 is no excuse for being on the wrong side of life. Marriage and parenting has definitely made me saner, cautious, and less demented and has sadly dulled my brain. Few years back, okay not few but several years back, I was equally thrilled playing pranks on others. My expression, am sure mirrored that of my son’s. So, here I am, gleefully plotting my revenge on an unsuspecting 10 year old and am lovin’ it.

I Can.....

I think, I feel, I cry, I laugh,
Emotions run deeper than I thought
I halt, I scuttle, I fumble and stumble
Life teaches me to be ever so humble

I smile through tears that dry so soon
Eyes that vie to tell a story true
Dreams that fight to see the light of day
Hopes that refuse to fade away

Tall I stand, glad to laugh and cry
To dream and hope, to feel and sigh
To have my eyes mirror what my smile began
To think I can, to know I can.

If words are all you have....

You have heard what you have to say, let others speak
Listen carefully; choose your words with utmost care
Lest a wrong one cast a tear, broken heart to reveal
Be aware of every word you utter with a smile to share
If words are all you have, if words are all you have!

My Mind Games

------ I don’t believe in violence, but that does not stop me from bashing a few in my head. Try it! It’s a great stress buster!!

------ Has anyone realized how difficult it is to follow our own advice – “Damn it! Stop using bad words!” or “FOR GOD’S SAKES, STOP YELLING”

------ I like where I am, Thank you. My feet on the ground and head in the clouds!

------ I should get my head checked… if only I can find it!!

------ Love and Live Happy or Hate and Die in Misery – the Choice is Yours!

------ Oh what a wonderful gift is Choice. Btw.. its plural and we all have it!

------ I will share anything. Just leave my food alone!

------ People should stop saying I am not in shape. Round is a shape ain’t it?

------ I like being the center of attraction. Makes me stay balanced!!

------ I talk too much. Tried silence. Realized ‘shutting up’ is not my cuppa. So trying to voice my thoughts in few words. Hence the Quotes.

Dear God,

I lay awake at night and think of You
Hundreds of questions I need an answer to
I lay in the dark seeking Light
Hoping against hope to see forever bright

Every life is precious full of meaning and worth
Then why do You end one without thought or reason?
I am yet to find a purpose behind Your Intent
Of mindless loss that is neither just nor pleasant

You taught us to believe that life is beautiful
With all its splendor, joy and grief
Why did you then fail us in our belief
That death need not be so lame and final

Life is love, love is life - I swore by this till my heart bled
Why have You been so painfully partial in spreading this need?
To one and all, specially to those who neither value love nor life
Do you have an answer for the living who bear the cross of loss?

Fear is invading our hearts where Faith used to shine bright
Loss is threatening to find us where Trust is losing its way
Dear God, I am willing to go beyond my beliefs, my trust and faith
To test my strength against these dark forces that has cast its shadow upon us

I do still believe that Love and Life is beautiful beyond words
And I know that there is a Light at every corner, even at the End

Grey Strokes...

Some have been thought brave because they were afraid to run away
More fool them for suffering in silence amidst fanfare of praise.
Muted expressions, dashing hopes, bag full of words hidden away
Is it any wonder then that pain leaves a dull reminder in its wake?
